Frequently asked questions
How do I identify my true local competitors?
Search your primary service keywords in your target location and note the businesses appearing in the local pack and top organic results. These are your real local competitors, which may differ from the businesses you consider competitors offline.
What factors determine local pack rankings?
Google's local pack rankings depend on relevance (category match), distance (proximity to searcher), and prominence (reviews, citations, links, content). The Local Competitor Analysis evaluates all prominence factors across your competitive set.
How important are reviews compared to other local ranking factors?
Reviews are among the strongest local ranking signals. Both quantity and average rating matter, along with review recency and response rate. The skill benchmarks your review profile against competitors to set realistic improvement targets.
Can I track local competitor changes over time?
Run the analysis monthly to track how competitors' profiles evolve. The skill stores historical data locally so you can compare snapshots and see whether competitors are actively investing in local SEO.
